2022 Rogers Scholar Todd Prater donates Teddy Bears to law enforcement officers

2022 Rogers Scholar Todd Prater donated Teddy Bears to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office for officers to give to children who experience traumatic situations. Todd, a Floyd Central High School student, sold dog treats to help pay for the cost of the Teddy Bears. The community service project was dedicated in memory of K-9 Officer Drago, who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2022. “This project meant a great deal to me because I plan to pursue a career in law enforcement. I was truly overwhelmed by the support from the community and was able to more than double the number of Teddy Bears donated in memory of K-9 Drago.” Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project.
