2021 Rogers Scholar Abigail Sears donates blankets to homeless shelter

2021 Rogers Scholar Abigail Sears donated blankets to the Jessamine County Homeless Shelter, Jessamine County Animal Shelter, and Southland Church’s Lexington campus. She received a total of 140 blankets in her “Cover Up Kentucky” community service project. “This project is a big impact to those who I donate to, and getting to see the joy in their faces when I delivered the blankets made me realize that many people take what they have for granted. This project has opened my eyes, in a way that I should always do what I can to help my community, and that I am very blessed to have what I do.” Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project.
