2020 Rogers Scholar Hogan Price delivers messages of kindness to 400 students

2020 Rogers Scholar and West Jessamine High School student Hogan Price, in partnership with the school’s Sources of Strength Club, organized a postcard campaign to spread a little kindness to students isolated at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. He sent postcards with encouraging messages to more than 400 virtual students in observance of Kindness Week, held earlier this year in February. “I feel proud that I was able to support this postcard campaign to provide an uplifting message to my fellow students who were isolated due to virtual school. It inspires me to want to make a positive impact within my school and encourage healthy behaviors and mental wellness, especially during such a stressful time with the COVID-19 pandemic.” Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project.
